So love it!
After watching my boyfriend (now husband) play this game constantly, I finally caved and decided to give it a go for myself. I gave it to him when it first came out as a Christmas gift after we first tried playing CK2 together as a couple when we first started dating. I didn't really like the graphics at the time and found the gameplay to be really difficult to understand and feel engaged by. However, something struck me when I took the time to watch him play CK3 recently when I usually just play my own games alongside him. As he was creating his own character and making all of these new cultural adjustments (I got him the Royal Edition bc I love him haha) I noticed how similar it was to playing Sims. I grew up playing Sims 2 - Sims 4 and loved the interactive and creative aspect of the game. I also liked how, if he wanted, he could forgo always having to have conflict with others and instead resolve it through decisions while growing his empire. We recently bought each other Humankind for Christmas and, though I really love the easy playability for entry-level/newbie 4X strategy game players, I didn't like how the AI was constantly leading to war (along with other bugs that are still being fixed in the game). I just wanted a more beefed up Sims experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone will not burdening me down with minutia and making the gameplay feel like a chore.
