Don't bother to buy the collector's edition ... it's impossible to finish the bonus levels, as the necessary tools - 3 shovels - do not appear in bonus level 10 and the level cannot be finished. The game needs to be updated by the developer.
Does not work on my Mac, despite meeting requirements
I very much like the Rescue Team series. This is the very first in the series and just about the only one that I did not yet have. It's pretty old and I hesitated but it was indicated that my Mac (Mojave 10.14.6) met the requirements so I purchased it. However, the game crashes immediately after starting it. I tried reinstalling, but that did not help. It was very cheap and I wasn't out of a lot of money, but I did feel a bit disappointed that I could not play this one missing game in the series ...
I love the Rescue Team games, they can be challenging here and there but that only adds to the fun! However, I will only give this 8th Rescue Team CE 3 stars, because (as noted by another reviewer also) the helicopter freezes on bonus level 18, so you cannot finish that level, nor the entire bonus round.
I like the New Yankee games and this one is one of my favorites from the series. It's a pretty good challenge (so far there's still a couple of levels in "normal" mode that I did not get 3 stars on!) and you'll get plenty of playing fun. Well worth the money spent. More of these please :-)
My least favorite of the 4 games but still very nice
The 4th game in the House of 1000 Doors series is my least favorite. Graphics are great but I liked the story and gameplay less than the other three. This is a personal preference though and I still recommend the game.
This is the 3rd game in the 1000 Doors series and it is just as great as the previous two. Like the previous ones, graphics and story are just fabulous. One minor gripe ... when I click on the Extras, the game crashes. But I like the game so much I didn't take off a star for this. I'm keeping an older Mac (which I will not update past Mojave) around just for games like these but like a previous reviewer, I do hope they'll redo the House of 1000 Doors in a 64 bit version! They're really some of the best hidden object games around!
This is a great sequel to House of 1000 Doors 1. Same great graphics, story and game play. Great bonus chapter. This is a hidden object game that I'll definitely play again. Well worth the price and recommended!
Wanted to play the demo, but all I get is a black screen after starting the game and then nothing. Pity, because I enjoy the Garden Gnomes games and wanted to buy this one. I tried the collectors edition also, to see if that one worked, but no, I got the same result: black screen after starting game and then nothing.
Wanted to play the demo, but all I get is a black screen and then nothing. Pity, as I enjoy the Garden Gnomes games and wanted to add this one to my collection.
Bought this at the sales price and for that amount, I think the price is right. The game has some challenges, either to complete the level with 3 stars or try and beat the developer's points. Still, at 32 regular levels and 9 "heist" (basically running to gather gold) levels, I felt a bit cheated. I'd recommend checking out the Collector's version if you want more levels (but personally I'm not too interested in getting some additional levels plus a whole lotta stuff that I'm not interested in. I understand and support the notion of fair pricing, but I'd rather pay a bit more and get plenty of levels than having to buy a collector's edition with stuff I'm not interested in).
If you like collecting supplies, you'll like this game. Lots of running around, building and picking up stuff. However, for more "seasoned" time management game players, this game may be a bit boring. There are 2 difficulty levels to play at: untimed and normal. If you're familiar with these games, there's not much of a challenge. In normal mode, I found it almost impossible to NOT get 3 stars on all levels, as the timer seems to stop or slow down before going from 3 to 2 stars. And since there is no "difficult" game mode, that's it. But that said, I still enjoyed playing it (and have played it several times).
Enjoyable, sometimes challenging and NO strategy guide
I enjoy playing this game ... some levels are easy, but some others are pretty challenging, which is good. It's the kind of game that I like to return to from time to time. I'd give this game a 5-star rating if it were not for the fact that when you click on the strategy guide for a bit of help on the more challenging levels, the game is interrupted (as in closed) and you're taken to the Big Fish website. I found a walkthrough online but obviously the strategy guide should have been accessible from within the game. That said, I'd definitely love to see more Campground installments.
In the past I used to play a lot of HO games but stopped when they started to churn them out 10 a day, as they all started to look alike and became boring. I loved this HO game. Interesting story line, good games and graphics. This is a HO game as they should be. Can't wait to play the next one in the series. This is one of those games that I keep a "Mojave Mac" around for :-)
This game has very cute graphics. It's not too challenging, you basically can't loose if you keep running around gathering supplies. For me, it's the perfect way to spend some time off from work and clear my mind, as I won't have to think too much about strategy. And did I say I love the graphics?
Although I'm a fan of the Rescue Team games, this one gets a slight thumbs down from me for the flashing lights in some levels. They gave me headaches. So if you're sensitive to flashing lights, reconsider. Other than that, a fun game, like the others in the series, although the earlier ones were more challenging.
Despite my Mac listed as meeting the requirements, this game won't let me get past the "add player name" screen, in the demo. My OS is Mojave, 10.14.6. Game screen doesn't look okay either, only fills a little part of my 27" screen. Won't buy.
I love this game ... graphics are nice, it's fast and there's plenty to do. It's neither too simple nor too difficult, just great fun running around :-) It reminded me of the Rush for Gold games, I like games like this. There are bonuses to be won while playing, hidden owls to be found and you'll need to think a little on where to make your workers go. I looked for the 1st game but didn't find it, looking forward to Golden Rails 3.
I love the Incredible Dracula games and was very pleased when I saw a new one is out. I downloaded the demo, but can't finish it, as it keeps crashing at level 6 (more specifically: at the message "you can now craft items"). Disappointing! Obviously I won't purchase this one.
If you like to run around and gather supplies, you will like the New Yankee games. The games are similar to each other, with different obstacles in them. This one has naughty pharaos, sandstorms, scorpions, sand witches and droughts to overcome. Although some levels are easy to play at gold level, some others you'll have to play a couple of times.
If you like the Weather Lord series, it's a nice addition. I do like the Weather Lord games so I'm a bit sad to give it 1 star because the game crashes every couple of levels and after level 40 and the bonus levels even as much as after every level when clicking on "continue". It becomes unplayable like that and I gave up after a couple of the bonus levels. Won't play that one again, waste of money. I'm on a 27" Mac, Sierra (10.12.6), 4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB RAM and an AMD Radeon R9 M395X.
