The game is funny, nice levels and characters. Not too difficult (unless you want to achieve 3 stars on each level), but also not too casual. Nice to spend some time on!

If you are an avid fan of role-playing games, Avernum (and its "brother" Avadon) are worth checking out. The focus is less on long character creation than in some other RPGs, the combat is round-based and thus the pace is moderate. However, with many side quests, a good story, and many dialogues, this is an interesting game - if not for everybody's taste!
