The best and the most important part of the game is the combat. Everything else is secondary and not as polished. It has a very story rich world with amazing graphics.
Probably the best addition you can buy, especially if you are interested in playing as China or Japan. Also adds a Chain of Command system, which overhauls some of the military organization.
The third Paradox game I have played so far, and the third one I have enjoyed thoroughly. Even if you get bored with the base game, there is a very active modding community. I recommend checking out "The Road to 56".

Decent
I recommend getting this if you like playing as the East European middle powers - Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia. There are some equipment related features in this aswell.
A nice addition if you like playing as the British or their Dominions - Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa - or the Indian Raj. It also adds some new features for managing subject states.
Not the first DLC I would buy, but not the last one either. I bought it mostly for the earlier start, but it has some small improvements on top of that. I recommend buying it once its on sale.
Adds several good features, the pagan warrior lodges being my favorite so far. Also adds customizable alternative starts. I would recommend getting this after you have the way of life DLC.
This DLC adds a few small features to the game, none of which are super important, but considering the price its a very solid pick up. I would recommend buying it especially if you enjoy playing as the Byzantine Empire.
I feel like this DLC doesnt add enough to justify it's price. While adding a lot physically, it is very light on new features. Purchase off a sale if you are interested in playing in India.
