Women's Murder Club: Death In Scarlet
 –

It might have been excellent...*****

...but it just missed.

The graphics are superb, the storyline is actually more engaging than any similar games I've played, the music is nice and not particularly intrusive; BUT the puzzles are sometimes too simple, it's too short and has no replay value.

I liked that it has no timer because it makes (or would make) it perfect for those of us who just like to relax and enjoy the ride rather than being harassed by a ticking clock. After all, some of us play these games to unwind after being, you know, harassed by a ticking clock five days a week.

I had game credits or I would probably be somewhat annoyed at having to pay $20.00 for it. As it stands it's not a total waste, but it really needs more work. Two more murders and random item search for replay would make it one of the best I've played.

BRILLIANT!!!*****

I agree with everything Peter said. I loved this game as a kid and this is almost better because you can play anytime and try to outdo yourself.

I like the fact that you can control the "intelligence" of the other players and choose how many people to play against.

And unlike the H/O games that playing twice is usually the limit before getting bored, this NEVER gets boring!

The gameplay, graphics and sound were ideal for the fabulous game of Clue.

They captured it perfectly!

FATE
 –

I need coolant....*****

I love this game. This kind of game is quite different from games available in Japan. But it overheats too much, and causes my macbook pro shut down like in 20 mins

I changed configuration as low as possible, but still causes shutdown. orz....

I'm using medical ice pillows to keep it cold.
Otherwise, the game itself is just great for $20.
I can study interesting English words, too.

This game is not too deep. Diablo is too much for me, but FATE is moderate. The scenario is maybe bit too same, and gets boring some time and the design of armor is pretty much same shape in different colors.

Not many variation is available. And yet, character development is endless fun, gathering rare items are so much fun, and definitely I would buy a next series.

Ho Hum*****

Yeah, besides being unchallenging because of the the bug that deals the same first hand every time, it also scores many games completely inaccurately, even according to their official rules. My advice....wait til they have a patch for this one!

I do like the enjoyment to earning points and being able to "virtual buy." That's something I enjoyed in the puzzle and board game and it's more fun in this one.

Easy hidden items game*****

The items are for the most part very easy to find. I do like how the hints work. There's not a number of hints, but there is a delay before you can use another hint.

Too many bugs!*****

At first it was good fun, but the game is too buggy. I don't know if it's because it's the Mac version (playing on a Mini), but the game becomes very frustrating after a few levels. You complete a quest, but don't get credit for it. Or you get killed and end up on a level that has no exit. Then you find that the quests you get next are for the level you just cleared out-too late. Or you get killed and quit (which should work, according to the manual), only to find that the game crashes when you try to reload.
Incidentally, Wild Tangent said they couldn't help me at all with my issues because they weren't responsible for the Mac version.
It's really too bad, because it could be a lot of fun if I weren't grinding my teeth in frustration. I want my experience and fame, darnit!
There are cheats, of course, but it's not the same somehow.

Disappointing*****

If you have played Bookworm Deluxe for hundreds of hours like I have, this might seem like a refreshing alternative. And to some extent it is, with different scoring and triple word scores for a few seconds after completing a level. But tile selection is very buggy, you can lose selections or it will score prematurely. And the dictionary is the pits! In the hour that I played, it rejected some twenty legitimate words.

Bottom line, too mouse-buggy and bad dictionary

Like it so far*****

I have only played the demo but I could tell it is the type of game I could spend a lot of time on and get addicted. I am sure I will purchase it. You can tell there is a lot of replay value.....like cards. I liked that you can stop at anytime and it doesn't affect the game. I have yet to find all the ins and outs of the game but it is very easy to get hooked on.
