– Objects half visibleMaking the objects half visible makes the game more thrilling, it makes you think. What's the sense to glow the object and make it very obvious that that's the one you need, did you used your brain. This game is more like puzzle/mystery solving. Sneaking than attacking. Focused on the story. We should be thankful that someone has created a game like this for Mac. Use intel and nvidia graphic card for this to look good. I use intel x3100(not a good vid card),but it just looks the way it is. No dropped frames even on full resolution. This game was originally on windows so I dont think it will look good on PPC. by Panic Girl, Japan - Jul 14th 2008

– BGM makes it scary, gameplay is great. The graphics may not be the best but it is not bad. The gameplay is amazing, you can interact with almost anything around you. I would say this is one of the scariest game I ever played. At first it made me uninstall this. why? I'm too scared to continue and see the icon hangin on my finder and my dock. The sounds are amazingly scary, the sounds are also the hint when your near danger or if somethings up. This is a puzzle/mystery/adventure game, it's focused more on story and puzzles. This is dark and horrifying. I couldn't even continue because I'm too scared for this kind of game, I just couldn't stand it. These are great on Mac. I tried this on my intel macbook, and set the game resolution to 1280X800 (macbook full resolution), and it played smoothly, no dropped frames. I don't know how will it look like on PPC. Some people were complaining about Penumbra: Overture about the bad graphics on their Mac, maybe their using PPC thats why. by Panic Girl, Japan - Jul 14th 2008

– Gawd! This game sucks!!!!Tried the demo. Extremely frustrating. Worse gameplay could not be imagined. Really. Playing this miserable excuse for a game is like staring at an oil painting. Even with the walkthrough, I spent my free 60 minutes just trying to make it out of the first room. Never made it. Mash the coin (intuitive!) and remove the vent. Nope. The game is too clumsy. Perhaps this says something about me, but I've removed this from my system permanently after wasting almost an hour. Myst fans may like it, but I doubt it. If you enjoy watching paint dry, grab this-it'll be exciting. If not, take a pass. Even at 20 bucks, it's a complete waste, in my opinion. by George Andrews, USA - Jul 14th 2008

– OLDThis games doesn't need to be on this site. I have downloaded loads of games from here and loved each one. This game looks like it was programed in the early 80. The graphics are very low quality. When you play full screen the graphics become very grainy. The controls are way out-dated. You can't even used the mouse or track pad!!! Not recommended. by Sam Gordon, USA - Jul 10th 2008

– Superb Tactical GameUnlike the previous reviewer, I haven't had any problems with the game on my iMac. Plus and Minus buttons speed up or slow down the game, and it can be paused with the space bar. Note, you can pause the game and give units multiple orders to do in sequence. This game is the most realistic simulation of WWII armor and infantry tactics I have ever come across. Superb. It makes intelligence gathering supreme and punishes you for calvary charges with tanks or troops. Just like real battles. It has hundreds of tactical options in each battle and also lowers your performance rating for reloading saved games. Brilliant. Finally, this game made by a Russian company plays no national favorites. For once, no "good guys." You can be the Germans, Anglos or Russians in the same theaters and see the difficulties each side faced. Thoughtful. My only problem is that once you play a campaign, you can't go back to individual chapters or scenarios. And though there is a custom scenario load feature, I haven't found where to get any. Still, one of the best war games I have ever seen: riveting, challenging and educational. by Curtis Kelly, Japan - Jul 10th 2008

– Helped me relearn these 2 card gamesI hadn't played either game in about 30 years and this was just what I needed to refresh my memory. There are serious glitches though. Sometimes the same card you get from the player on your right is the one that you've just passed to the player to your left. by Cheryl Goldman, USA - Jul 6th 2008

– Overall loads of fun for the HolmesI think that overall it's a great game and the story line is great. I like the fact that there are 16 different cases to solve and they range as to how difficult they are. by Jacqueline Kang, USA - Jul 6th 2008

– really wish it could have been longer. This is the first Agatha Christie game that I have played and after going through it I think that it really could have been longer. I like the fact that there is a story line and that the puzzles actually fit the storyline. That's a big plus. by Jacqueline Kang, USA - Jul 6th 2008
