Impressive WW2 Strategy

At the end of the day Company of Heroes is pretty easy to recommend - as long as you can accept its a single player only game. The gameplay is brilliant, the tactical options deep and varied, and the multiple campaigns are fun, well voiced and will keep you busy for awhile. $50 does seem a bit high to ask for a campaign only title, but you have about 40-50 hours of gameplay here as well. World War 2 strategy fans won't regret picking this up, its an intense, realistic and engaging recreation of WW2. Check it out.

Great!

just got this game for my 13" macbook pro. It runs really smoothly with above average graphics and havn't encountered any glitches at all yet. A little pricey but definitely worth the money if you're a fan of ww2 rts.

Been looking for this everywhere

I've been looking for this, especially available as a Mac download. I just got a Mac and didn't realize how hard it was to find downloads! Anyways, I really liked this game when it came out a while back and I've always hoped they will come out with a new version of it. However, I know Lionhead Studios has their website under construction, so I'm not sure what that says about the company.

Great, Great Game. One of the Best!

Purchased Assassin's Creed 2, based on the overview and outline of the game from the publisher. I was intrigued by the story line and took a chance on it. What joy - the game is quite simply the astounding. From the graphics to the playability - but it is the story that keeps you interested.

I play on a MacBook Pro and have no issues (model late 2008). I know that some have cited the lack of gamepad as a problem, but after playing for a few hours the keyboard controls actually work very well and you get used to them (and dare I say like them).

As a sideline, I enjoyed (and still do) Assassin's Creed 2 so much that I purchased a PS3 just to play Assassin's Creed 1. And it is for this reason that I compare playing on keyboard vs gamepad. While I like the gamepad, I honestly prefer the keyboard controls. (It's probably since I started playing on keyboard first, and I am sure that I will get used to the gamepad).

I play with subtitles on and there is a sync issue where the dialog (audio) completes before the cut-away scenes are completed in some cases. That's the only flaw (bug on the mac port) that I can see.

In short, the AC games are amazing.

boring

I like the sims but it is boring to play; no matter how many expansion packs they are it is boring after a short while of playing. I think the original sims was more fun.

So far good

Im still continuing the game. I think that it's fairly hard and it has a fun story to go with it. It's not super scary at all. Its way better than all of the horror hidden object games these days. They need to make more mac games like this and less of those. This is probably the worst part of having a mac. You can't play pc games...

Oversimplified adaptation

It is obvious that the original version was much tougher than this Mac version with its pointers to anything of game interest and its skipping over some of the actions originally needed. Still worth it for the atmosphere and the detailed graphics.

Gunplay and Art.... All Rolled Into One!

Couple the art-style with the immaculate gunplay and you get a game that is screaming to be played. The story in Borderlands, though not as fleshed out as it could have been, still adds to the action contained within the game. The quest for the 'perfect gun' keeps you ripping through enemies and bosses who may hold a weapon that is truly spectacular. It is this weapon-centric mechanic and the toonish-beautiful art style that separates this game from other shooters. I am very grateful this game came to Mac OSX. Let's hope Borderlands 2 does the same!

I guess it was worth the money?

Good game but is mostly just a match 3 puzzle. Could of had more to it, like searching for all the the pieces that you collect instead of just a redundant find the matching piece.

Waste of money, looks interesting but did not live up to expectations, not enough control of the game.

Unbelievable!

I bought this one and Assassin Creed 2 Deluxe Edition to run my 15" MB Pro i7, 8GB RAM, GT330M 512MB and what happens? Not playable due to the lags and after applying the patch ConvictionPatch 1.0.1 I cannot start neither AC nor Splinter Cell!

Absolutly lame game. Nothing happens, no nice animations. And you don"t even really play the characters.
