Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition

Great

Graphics- 7/10
options 8/10
tactics 6/10
colors 7/10
gun sounds 7/10
effect sounds 9/10

Not to bad overall, i honestly dont feel this game is truelly worth 30 bucks. Its a solid 20 dollar game, and if it goes below 20 on sale for sure buy it. Has lots of options that needed to be added when it comes to tactics. Also, why the hell wont a machine gun crew turn around and fire on a flanking enemy, yes foliow orders but dont make me come select you and say DONT DIE< TURN AROUND?

Buy it if you must at 30, Buy it for sure at 20, YOU ARE NUTS NOT TO BUY IT BELOW 20.

Will not launch

Crashes while "loading". I don't know if it works on other models, but I can't recommend a game that doesn't even get to it's title screen.

Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy

This is a historically accurate simulation that involves a lot of strategic and tactical choices similar to the "board game" era of the Avalon Hill games. The MAC is an ideal platform. It is interesting and fun and hopefully there will be more. The only negative was that Apple forgot to send the Manual and you really need that to learn the game.

Hidden Objects - 3 in 1 - Thriller Pack
 –

Interesting, but there is a glitch

Jack the Ripper was interesting enough, but there is a glitch as you get into the game where one of the hidden objects is off screen, and can't be clicked on. In looking up the problem on Google, others have found it, and the game can't be progressed past that point. It just seems unacceptable that a game with such an obvious glitch could make it to release if no one can't complete it.

Why a graphic card with 1 GB?

The Windows version runs with 512 MB Graphic cards. This is not really good - there are only some configuration for a Mac with 1 GB Graphic card.

Great Game but crashes

I don't know what R.N is going on about. The controlls are fine. Always clicking might be what the problem is. The curser turns into a sword icon for enemies that can be attacked, than you click ONCE, than when the sword turns in to a flame you click again and complete combos. There are different styles, strong, fast, group. If you click to quickly, you stop, if you click to late you stop. Its a timing thing. All is explained in first 20 mins of the game.

The game itsself is great, characters, voice acting, atomspher and story are all very enjoyable. And for $10 its a steal. The only issue I have, and is the reason i don't give it a full 5 star. Is the crashing. Game crashes a lot. Best way to avoid, is save often, I save every 15 mins or so, or anytime a key moment happens, or before or after i go through doors through loading screens. Seems to be the main cause of crashes. But once you log back in it seems to work just fine

Something's missing...

Seems like all the elements for a fun nostalgic game are there, but it just doesn't come together. On my system, there were also - literally - parts missing from the text in the instructions, the description, etc. Other "players" were able to use the Share the Wealth cards against me, but I couldn't get the game to let me do the same. When I went to the "game help" section, the page was nearly blank.

At the end of the game, there was a weird flickering/fluttering happening with the screen.

This game needs quite a bit of overhaul before I would pay for it, even though it is quite reasonably priced.

Meh.

I really enjoyed the game but it crashes. A lot. I got to level 23 and it crashes 2 mins in every time. Talked to the developer and they were no help. I tried everything to get it to play but had to abandon the game.

It's aight

I haven't finished the game quiet yet, and so far its been fun, but there isn't anything really special about this rendition of the PoP series. In terms of the graphics, they're really nice. Some might not like the art style but I think its a nice change of pace from the previous PoP games. Game play, its pretty smooth. They use gating to teach you how to play the game. At first, it was a little irritating they wouldn't just let you explore the controls a bit and really let loose, but after all the tutorial levels/stages are complete, its pretty fun trying out different combos and attacks. The game, however, is made to be played with a controller. The controls on the keyboard require a bit of tweaking to get it to where you can play comfortably and the menu, you can tell, was made for a console. The biggest caveat I have is that you can't really die. No matter what you do. You can't die. The princess saves you every time, even if shes tied up, so you can adventure on. So its not really that challenging of a game. Some of the puzzles are hinting that they were meant to be challenging and complex but lose that appeal veil when there is no consequence to failing them.

Overall, its a great looking game with semi-smooth mechanics and mediocre gameplay. If you get this game, listen to the in-game banter between the prince and the princess, that is the bread and butter to be honest.

Back to the Future: The Game
 –

Amazing Story Line, Horrible Controls

For starters, watch some of the playthroughs of this game. I think Mahalo does one that accurately sums up the in-game controls.

Story-line: Its amazing. They did such a good job with keeping true to the Back to the Future franchise that you feel that you're playing an interactive movie sequel. Which, I suppose, was the intention. The voice acting is great, the dialogue is really good and I love all the throwbacks they put into the game. I had to watch the series over again because of the nostalgia it induced.

Game-play: Horrid, is that the word? They were clucky, annoying as hell at time, and very unintuitive. Honestly, I wanted to give the game 2 stars because of the controls. If the story-line had been sub par, this game would have not been worth purchasing. You click somewhere, he will refuse to go. You use the keyboard controls and he does something else. He gets caught on invisible in-game artifacts, runs very slow to the next point, while running will sometimes do his own thing and you have to fight to correct him or something else entirely. If they make a patch for this game I hope they fix the controls.

Game-play: Linear. It gives you the allusion to choice making, but you don't have it. Go to point a->point b-> point c. You are playing a movie, which isn't a bad thing. As I stated, the story line makes the game completely worth it. Its a cheap way to see the next movie installment. But, thats just it. There IS not choice. You choose from a list of decisions until you get the right decision then the game continues. The game will let you choose for 15 minutes of dialogue that only has the sole purpose of letting you know that its not the right dialogue and doesn't really lend itself to the storyline at all, until you chose the right combination to advance the storyline. Sometimes, I wished, that they would just let you watch the game, it would have been less irritating. I found myself in the 3rd episode just spamming for "hints" because trying to guess what the hell I was supposed to do was too frustrating. And thats what it was, guessing. Some of the stuff were things you pick up in game and solve while choosing dialogue. Most, is just random chance, "can you guess which answer is correct."

Overall: The controls are dismal, the gameplay the definition of linear, but the storyline is stellar. 1-2 stars if the storyline hadn't been so good, but, it was. So 4 stars it is.
