Beautiful Spoothing Music and Gorgeous Graphics

I love Aloha Solitaire and enjoy this game even more. So nice to relax with after a stressful day. Matching cards while listening to the music and being awed by beautiful graphics is a lovely way to spend an hour or two in the evening...or morning or afternoon for that matter.

Hoyle Card Games 2010
 –

Rather Disappointing

I had high hopes for this edition of Hoyle Card Games. I've bought every one since they first came out. I don't understand why the cards are still so small. We don't need to see the chairs around the table-give us close-ups of the card layout. That's why we play the game. It would be so nice to have new characters and an overhaul of the items to buy with our "winnings." This game has so much promise.

Enjoyable, but has problems

I agree with the above description - there are definately problems that need to be fixed. However, the puzzles are a cut above the usual, and inventive. Fix the problems and you have a first class game.

FlatOut 2
 –

Extremely Fun Arcade Racer

If you don't look for a realistic, streamlined racer this might be your choice. Flatout 2 is action packed whith stunts, rated crashes and a lot of stuff flying around (including the drivers in some cases). There's a decent career mode, a lot of cars and upgrades you can choose from and a good choice of tracks and arenas for the demolition and stunt modes. If you enjoyed Destruction Derby back in the days, definitely try this out. Absolutely worth the money.

Good Game, buy it, it's fun!

This game really rocks! Though it is retro-style.

In order to get widescreen support you need to look at this page:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Alien_Shooter:_Vengeance

i play it in native resolutions on my mbp and my imac.

vp should make the widescreensupport and high-res support directly in the game-menu, this would be much easier. the loading-times are a bit too long, but as I said before, the game rocks! excellent atmosphere really good musik and sound and detailed 2d graphics. the animations could be a bit better, but they are absolute OK.

I have some lines in the game which are a small bug, but i think they will fix this and make the scrolling a bit smoother.

good game, buy it.

Laura Jones and the Secret Legacy of Nikola Tesla
 –

Tesla game fun, with minor issues

This is the one of the first hidden object games I've played. Tesla's Legacy is enjoyable, but some parts feel rough around the edges. In a few of the explanation scenes, characters are missing while their dialogue is happening onscreen. In one instance, a character appeared only after his conversation had ended, but he stayed there/ blocking the screen, hiding part of the puzzle I was attempting. I also noticed one or two typos in the puzzles, which I would usually overlook, but when you're searching for a "tube", and really should be looking for a "tuba"...

At one point I spent several minutes working out the solution to a puzzle, but it never activated the way it should have. I looked up the game's website, but it's all in Russian, so I couldn't contact anyone regarding this glitch.

Overall I like the feel of the game and way it builds up the mystery around Tesla's strange inventions and theories. At times the music is far enough in the background to blend in with the other sounds and/or dialogue, but sometimes I found it grating, and ended up turning it down, making it barely audible. Perhaps a little more variety in the sounds and music might have worked better.

Hoyle Card Games 2010
 –

Fun games, terrible Mac program

I've owned every version of the Hoyle games and had hoped this 2010 version would fix many of the previous bugs. It does not. Not only that, it introduces a slew of new problems. The "random" cards are not. After you play awhile, you will see the same characters and cards (Hearts in particular). With Canasta, all you see is the players and cards-you have NO IDEA what the meld is, what the score is, and the status of the deck. On top of that, many games (like Canasta) have removed the ability to double-click the card to play it. You have to manually drag the card to the discard pile or home area to play it or meld. Extremely tedious. This makes this game totally worthless because I want to play the game, not master my ability to drag my mouse around. Very, very disappointing.
