The Count of Monte Cristo

A wonderful game to play. Good sound, graphics, but constantly crashes. I am running the game with Leopard, don't know if there is an incompatibility problem.

Memory Workout

This is a rather simple but addictive game that can be quite challenging. Word of warning though, the music that accompanies the game is a rather powerful meem and you will find yourself saying or singing red, green, yellow, blue long after you've switched off your monitor.

After playing the game for less than an hour, i discovered the game has some bugs. A room with a door to another room is supposed to become visible after finding all the clues, but it doesn't change. I have played this room with several names, will all the same result. One of the other challenges on this game just froze up and i had to just wait until time ran out. I would not recomend.

Good, but not as great as it could be.

Overall, I had fun playing through the different puzzles. I went ahead and purchased the game after playing through the demo assuming that the puzzles would get significantly harder by the end. However, though most are still enjoyable, the puzzles are generally too easy and more appropriate for a younger crowd. It usually took 2 minutes or less to get through each puzzle, and I breezed through the game in a mere 2 nights of gameplay (without staying up all night to do it).

I enjoyed the room games where the player is required to find and properly use various items found around the room, but found that the hints gave too much away to really make it very challenging to figure out what to do.

If you enjoy challenging puzzles that really make you think, this is probably not the game for you (though the sound and graphics are done quite well.) I remember doing puzzles out of a book when I was a kid, and I think that this game would be really fun to the right 10-12 year old.

Amazing!

This game, while not the most graphically advanced, is an epic strategy game. No where else can you go so indepth into EVERY aspect of the nation as in this game. If you're looking for mindless strategy, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you're looking for a game with hours upon hours of playability, this is for you.

Hidden Secrets: The Nightmare
 –

Mixed

The story line is an interesting enough twist, but I agree that the mini games are more of a distraction than anything else. Once they are unlocked, though, they are something my kids can play. I got to level 11 on the first pass before becoming a bit bored, but I was having to use the hints a lot, and had to skip the peg mini game. One clue I was supposed to find was in the pitch dark! I'd rather be searching for things I can at least see, than aimlessly clicking around for minutes just to see if what I need is invisible somewhere. I'll try to get through to the end, but I'll be quite frustrated if I get stuck somewhere in spite of mousing over and clicking every darn pixel.

Hidden Secrets: The Nightmare
 –

very enjoyable

I enjoyed playing this game very much - the puzzles were engaging and I liked trying to find the clues. Even though it was clear early on who had tried to kill Flora, getting there was entertaining and the puzzles were interesting variations on others I have played. Worthwhile

Penumbra: Overture

Absolutely hopeless

I downloaded this game and gave up in frustration about 20 minutes later. On my Imac running OS 10.4 the graphics were appalling, the interface frustrating and arbitrary, and because the graphics looked so bad there was no incentive to continue. Download the demo and have a shot, I'd be interested to know if It was just me. I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a fork.

Good, but a little tedious..

I liked this game for about a couple of days, but now I don't even want to play it. It is a little tedious and boring. I keep waiting for it to become more challenging. Yeah, you can save up to buy a lot of stores, but they all look the same. Same equipment too, except that you can upgrade it. I wish that this game would have been more fun and I agree about the assistant-big deal. There are some slight quirks on my Mini Mac also, but not so bad as in Polly's, evidently.

This was more challenging than most hidden object games!

I really enjoy this game, because it is much more challenging than most of the other hidden object games. I would reccomend this game to others.

Addictive Fun

I love this game, although, at times, my game crashes right in the middle of winning or more frequently, losing...I have Mac OS X. I do wish that there were more levels in the Zen Mode, because it is soooo fun and addictive.

Halo Universal Binary

Fantastic

The UB version of Halo for the Mac is fantastic. I've been playing Halo PC since October 2004. I was hooked by the single player campaign at first. The story is well written and the ending is hidden behind a twist or two. After beating the game once, I've been playing the multiplayer ever since. This is where Halo really shines. The multiplayer community is STILL very large, after 5 years. The graphics look great on the early 2008 Mac Pro with 4GB of RAM, an 8800GT, and two WD Raptors. Also no bugs with Leopard even though it was originally designed with 10.2!

Glitch to be fixed

I love this game, however there is a glitch in the scrolls. The designers need a patch. The game doesn't allow you to enter all the Roman numerals to get all the machine parts. I will start over under a new name. The paintings are tough enough to please and the game is good. Remember to blink!!! Hint: don't start over under your same name...this is where the problem started. Not germane but the Roman numerals for 14 and 24 are wrong!

Decent puzzle game gets boring after a few hours

Bejeweled Deluxe is a great little puzzle game. I have it on my Mac and my cellphone and my Video iPod. Its sound and graphics are good and have never crashed my computer. However the Game gets boring after more than Hour of playing. There isn't much extra goodies that add to the game play. If you've played over Puzzle Gem games like Jewel Quest or Jewel Match, BeJeweled
is much more fast paced.
