Battle Fleet

For free its great,

I played it a little, but its super slow. For me and i would say most people its not a game you would go to play. Great for a plane ride, sitting in the train station, etc etc, but not a game you come home and say you want to play.

I got it for free with the purchase of another game. I would say its worth a try and worth 5-8 dollars at most, dont pay more than that, get Leviathon war ships over this. Worth havign around, but dont spend much on it, and dont expect much. Just a good solid time killer.

Excellent time management game

This game is in the best spirit of time management games. Not only to do you have to run around like crazy to beat the clock but you have to strategize the order you are going to do things, how many resources you are going to need and therefore what building to upgrade, etc to get 3 stars on every level. Each level builds in different challenges and new types are introduced as the levels progress so it doesn't get boring!

Gets boring fast.

In the beginning it is kinda fun, until you'll realize what a stupid game it is.

It's great!

I've spend a lot of hours building my own island, helping rich people and let the poor suffer. I also help the US so that the USSR won't invade me! It is fun to help people, ad its more fun to demolish them!

Excellent

Stumbled across this after purchasing a new Mac. What an amazing game. I love the entire platform, the characters, and the design. It is so addictive, and I can't wait to play Season 2.

Scared the crap out of me, and an intriguing storyline as well

This game is very similiar to the amnesia games, and it is made by the same people as well (Frictional Games). They made this before the amnesia series, so it isn't as polished, however it is still full of scary moments and an intriguing story, so it is still worth your time.

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller - Episode 1: The Hangman
 –

Captivating interactive detective novel game

Cognition 1, a really scene setting good game and storyline, done with a combination of animations and comic series illustrations, nice directing and good voice acting. The characters are somewhat cliché but not too bad, the game progress and puzzles are captivating although not that difficult to solve.

This is as stated chapter 1 of 4, so around the time you think you've gotten into the game, it does end too soon. Expect a few evenings of an interactive detective novel with depth to it, and music that is perfect for the setting.

As you start the game you choose graphics level which allows you to adjust it to what suits your computer. The game has a few minor bugs, one being when you get the city travel map up - if you don't have an interface and cursor then, press B and it seems to work well after that. The characters also do a few unrealistic things, and a few times graphics glitch or voice volumes might turn odd, however the game is stable as such.

For me, chapter 1 gave me the taste for more and I'm on to chapter 2. I'm giving it 4 starts, the 5th withheld for minor bugs, some unrealistic details and too short gameplay time.

4.5, almost a 5

#1 issue, this was obviosly designed for touch screens. They didnt tone down the size of buttons and scroll areas for the computer, so trying to do finite, quick in battle changes, upgrades, turret selection, etc is a HUGE pain, gets annoying real fast when you accidently sell, or miss click, or miss upgrade, etc etc.

#2 I like how hard it is, and only getting the rewind is a cool feature, but i hate when you get to level 28/30 and screw up, rewind and try again then mayble level 29 another issue comes up and you ruin your perfect score. You now have to play all 28 levels again, wish it had an evey 10 levels, or half way threw say 15 of 30 or 12 of 24 for example save point.

Other than those two things its really fun. WAY better than the others ive played, cool options that allow you to play YOUR WAY, you can get specialized weapons and make combos for how you want to defend, makes it more personal. I like the varied levels, the guys who come out and hide in the bushes and attack your towers, lots of new and creative things, expecially the COUNTER Attack where you go back and defend a level you have played but in a different way, makes for much longer game play without monotony.

Almost a 5, just those two issues, Its basic, but they spruced it up and made it more creative than a standard tower defens.

Really frustrating

I could barely start this game: the interface is so bad. You play a character who awakes, amnesiac, on a beach. The character doesn't see too clearly and can't walk well so you kind of stagger around slowly in the gloom, painfully trying to interact with objects. The screen is rarely still, so trying to focus on an object to click it is maddening. This constant swaying also creates a lag between your inputs and what happens on the screen, so it can multiple tries just to click on a stationary object. I cannot express how quickly this becomes a major frustration. I have asked for a refund.

The Promised Land
 –

Listen up developers: we want more like this!

Similar to Virtual Villagers except more transparent in terms of goals. I wish there were more games like this! It actually reminds me of Gemini Lost and Wandering Willows, and those are games my kids and I play again and again.

Hidden object games are fun, but don't boast the kind of replay appeal that strategy and simulation games have, much less the better time management games.

The Promised Land is part strategy, part simulation. Your job is to run the island by assigning jobs based on citizens' preferences. Along the way, there are challenges such as things to build, pirates to fight (Angry Birds style!), and houses to rearrange. Like Gemini Lost, you also need to build up knowledge points in order to learn new skills and gain more structures.

Seriously, I can't imagine someone NOT enjoying this.

Fun Unique Game

Interesting and fun game, unique! Strategy involved and wonderful graphics/animations. don't care much for the narrator's voice or the music, doesn't suit the theme or ethnicity. Otherwise this game is fantastic. I give it 5 Stars!
