Back to the Future: The Game
 –

Not really worth the money

You listen and watch the video more than you actually play the game - disappointing. The graphics and sound are good, but they really missed the boat on the gaming aspect.

Strange Cases: Mystery of the Lighthouse Collector's Edition

Fun but absurdly short for the price

OK, this game is fun, but it only takes about 2 hours to play. That's $10/hour and rather expensive for a video game.

Borderlands

horrible game play

Every new mac ships with a magic mouse... guess what controller doesn't work with this game!

Right click to use the rifle scope then try to left click to fire: fail.
Assign the left-alt to scope and left click to fire: fail
Assign left control to scope and left click to fire: fail.

Not that one should need to use the scope, the field of view in this game is so narrow its like running while looking through binoculars.

The graphics are beautiful, the dialog corny and the lag frustrating. (playing on a 2.8Ghz 8 core Mac Pro).

This is the worst $40 I've spent on a game, especially since I can't play it.

Burgertime Review

Not being a fan of shoot-em-up games, I really enjoy playing this one. When it was available in the arcade, I could at least 45 minutes play out of one quarter. This is a very close replica. Thanks to the developers.

Age of Conquest III
 –

A disappointment

I downloaded the demo, and it worked great. It was a fun game, even if the gameplay was limited to one campaign. I thought it would be worth my while-I rarely buy games any more; when I do buy one, I want one that will give me value for dollar-how often will I want to play it, how long will I want to play it when I do?

Well, so, I bought it. I downloaded it, and have had nothing but trouble with it.

It froze when I first ran it; I had to force quit it three or four times before the game menu FINALLY came up.

I should have taken that as a warning, for it only got worse. For instance, you can only make ONE choice on the map. When you do, you'd better make sure that choice you make is to press "start," as the system will take you to a black screen otherwise. Also, any selection that you make on the map section, the next thing that will happen is it will go straight to a black screen. So when you read that you can choose your country/map/timeperiod/era...NOPE. You can't even use the arrow keys to scroll. It all goes back to a black screen. I did get to play one game, and it was as enjoyable as the demo. But I have not been able to play the games and campaigns I want-which is, well, wasn't what I paid twenty bucks to do.

I was disappointed; I've bought games from here for years, and this is the first out-and-out stinker. I would like some kind of compensation for this clunker of a program.

Sid Meier's Civilization V
 –

Steam, a real disappointment

As a paying gamer, never using pirate software, I despise being penalised in the stead of those who do steal. No wonder the game costs 50 bucks, probably $10 from each sale is going to Steam. Nowhere on this page does it mention that Steam must be installed on your system to play this game. I have had experience with Steam in the past and they are dodgy. They have modified programs with their own content and have in some ways damaged features of the original. I do not trust Steam at all and am disappointed that Sid Meier's has gone this way, it will no doubt be a long term arrangement and, as a result, this fan will not be purchasing any more Civ games. I did not choose this option and would not have bought the game if I had known.
