I could only tolerate an hour or two of this unfortunate purchase. Reviews were postive and the "Game of the Year" monicer was promising, but the game was a big disappointment. While the UI is awkward and overly complex, I might have gotten over that if the game wasn't so visually unattractive.
Character designs are ugly and malproportioned, with large torsos but tiny hips and legs. This would be okay if it were a stylistic choice but the game seems to aspire to a high level of realism with very fine textures, which makes the flaws in character design and shape much more conspicuous. Character animations are also clunky and awkward, and the menu system is graphically overdone to the point that it's just tacky.
The story is not original or engaging enough (at least in the first two hours) to overcome these shortcomings. I considered giving two stars because the environments are well done and the voice acting is passable but ultimately the game is unplayable and I might as well have burned my money.
This game is okay if you're into villian clowns. The story is kind of cute, but after a while, the whole thing tends to drag a little. Not bad for something to pass the time.
