Frustrating with no hints

I am an avid HO/Adventure game player and this one is the worst. The direction of the game is frustrating at best, with puzzles that make no sense as to how to solve them, no hint capability, the story line is ridiculous. Certainly you folks can do better than this. :(

The Stroke of Midnight CE

This looked a good game, so I downloaded and started to play. Unfortunately it was all problems. When you go to read the book you cant - it stays on the first page. When you have completed a task , you have to wait until the opening page stops, the screen kept shrinking, and then the game freezes. This is the first ever bad report I've had with a mac game, so no buy. Is anybody else having the same problems?

Cursor mal-functioned and needs better clues

The game cursor would not act right so I changed to the mac's cursor. The fairy is not that helpful. She often points out areas that have already been done. I am now stuck on the puzzle towards the end where you look to the stars and turn them on or off. The clue with the sun, moon and star alignment is not helping. Are there hint sites for these games? The game is graphically pretty but could use a map of the castle and the option to skip a puzzle or get better hints.

Fiction Fixers: The Curse of Oz

The wizard of oz

Most of the puzzles were challenging enough. I had to search through a lot of previous screens to figure out were the hidden clues were. I liked the game but it was hard at spots and I had to skip a puzzle. Overall I would recommend it to beginner players.

The Otherside: Realm of Eons

A disaster

I had to start with the game more than 5 times from the very beginning because of a bug in the prawn shop only to stuck again a few scenes later. No chance to go on - the game crashes.
No fun at all!

Awesome!

This is definitely one of the best games I have ever played. It was not made for making money, it was made because the programmers and developes had fun making it. The visuals, the details, the story, the music and atmosphere. This is art!

Diablo-lite

If you are a fan of Diablo or Diablo II, you will like this game. It plays nearly the same, with some improvements both graphically and in terms of some features, which just seem more refined here. It will definitely give you the Diablo fun you need while waiting for Diablo 3 to come out.

On the downside, the amount of character customization suffers somewhat as compared to the Diablo games, with simpler types of skills, and without any class-specific skills (there are no skills at all, in fact), and starting characteristics that favor a fighter type. In addition, the levels do start to get a bit repetitive, and are often too tightly packed with enemies, even close to the entrance, so that you can be attacked by an unbearable swarm of enemies before you have a chance to react.

On the plus side, the pet (either a cat or dog) is a big improvement to the Diablo formula, which can fight alongside you as well as return to town to sell extra gear you find along the way. They also work as a nice extra storage space as you explore. The game also features a relatively simple mini-game of fishing, where you can find rare gear as well as an assortment of fish that can be used to shapechange your pet into fearsome beasts that can fight for you in different ways. The gear you can find through fishing is often much better than you find otherwise, so you might find yourself sitting for hours just fishing at some spot you find deep in the dungeon.

Overall, the game seems like the first Diablo with some enhanced features from Diablo II, and some new ideas all its own. It's a great fix for any Diablo fan, although the repetitive and overly populated levels can make the game drag after awhile. Easily worth the $20 entrance fee.
