Trapped The Abduction
 –

Boring

I got this game thinking it would be much different by the description. It really is a hidden object game thats forsure but it just goes on and on not much of a plot and I finally stopped because I couldn't take it much more. I did give it 2 stars because if you just want to find stuff this is the game for you.

Ancient Space
 –

Might be fun game if worked

Well this was a complete waste of $19, sometimes works and mostly freezes. I have a high end mac system that can handle this game. All these issues and you can't even play it.

The Wolf Among Us (Telltale Key)
 –

Storytelling like it should be

This game is like watching a great movie in which you control the main plot developments. Anyone who likes a comic-style, a bit melodramatic and very well thought out story with a bunch of twists and turns, should definitively buy this game.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition
 –

Nice but not perfect

This is a stylish but simple hack & slash game set in the great Star Wars universe.
Character development is simple and a bit bland, but the combat mechanics are fun.
The game is a bit short but for the time it lats, its fun to play.

Football Manager 2014
 –

Football simulation in perfection

This game is Football simulation as it should be. The content size is gigantic, the player development realistic on a level that is startling (sometimes I find a young unknown player that I nurture up to become a star only to see this same player come from obscurity to superstardom in real life a few years later).
And that is the great asset of this game: the incredibly researched playerdatabase. The game developers have their own player scouts in every major league in this world that rate all the players, even young amateurs over the course of years. The resulting database of players is so good that more and more actual pro-clubs are using it for their own scouting.
Anyway, everyone who would like to have a game that resembles the reality of modern day football better than any other game out there, should definitively buy this one.

Endless Space - Emperor Edition
 –

Space Strategy like Master of Orion

If you like games were you control a specific race and try to conquer the world (in this case the universe), you will like this game. You control every aspect of your society, from colonization of planets (even the buildings and facilities on said planets), to research projects, diplomacy, the hire of heroes and of course rather cool space warfare.
I love the game and have sunk hours and hours of playtime in it.

Bluebeard's Castle
 –

Expected more

Unfortunately the developers decided in their infinite wisdom to create such a darkly atmospheric game, some of the HO scenes but all of the 'open' world scenes are really difficult to look at and spot things in...found myself squinting hard most of the time and that detracted from any enjoyment of the game...

Mystika
 –

Nice enough

Can't find a great deal positive or negative to say about this game...it progresses well enough, mixing match 3 with HO, though majority from playing the demo seems to be match 3, have to agree with previous reviewer that the sounds when matching are satisfying and cathartic...that said though there's little in the way of plot or storyline and can get repetitive...if you're looking for a straight match 3 game and just want to go through the same motions you could probably do worse but overall I found little to recommend it..the graphics are nice and it doesn't have that busy overall feeling that a lot of match 3 games have that can actually leave you very stressful...can't comment on the spider as I only got as far as the demo and that's where I'll leave it

The Sims 3
 –

Sims 3 (still) offers addictive, immersive fun!

I know the Sims 4 just came out, and therefore people might not be rushing to buy the previous version. That being said - this game is needlessly, horrendously, delightfully addicting. The changes made from the Sims 2 are all positive: endlessly customizable furniture and clothing; better development of wishes, moodlets, and opportunities; the addition of housing blueprints if (like me!) your houses never turn out *quite* the way you imagined them. With the Expansion Packs, possibilities really feel limitless. I can't quite get enough! I'm not close to being done with exploring and enjoying S3 (and I've had it for over a year), so S4 is just going to have to wait...

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4
 –

Not for everyone

I originally bought this after trying to play its equivalent on my iPhone. However, I couldn't quite get into the game play: the controls felt a little stilted, the puzzles too rote... maybe growing up without video games means that I have trouble adapting to certain game styles, but this one didn't "click" for me. I wouldn't be surprised if it's leant better to iOS devices or something with a controller.

It also just didn't capture the magic of Harry Potter the way I've always pictured it. I mean, it *is* Lego - usually a good thing! - but it didn't work for me.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
 –

Not for everyone... part 2

My review of this is essentially the same as Years 1-4, since I had the same issues. Perhaps I need to give both a more hearty endeavor, but I never got much past the first year (be it 1 or 5) in either game because it wasn't as fun as I'd hoped.

Gone Home
 –

Too short!

I wanted to LOVE this game. Casual exploration - with no fear of zombies lurching after you, or a time limit, or any other stressors - is really my style of gameplay. (Call me chicken; it's true!)

The graphics are beautiful and the story is compelling. However, my fiancé and I finished this game in the span of something like a couple of hours - even trying to draw it out - and we both thought the ending was a little anticlimactic. Wonderful? Certainly. Worth $20? ...questionable.

If it's ever on sale, I'd recommend it; $20 for two hours of moseying didn't add up for me - even with the gorgeous details.

The Sims 3 Island Paradise
 –

This EP was what really hooked me on Sims 3 (pardon the pun)

I had dabbled in the Sims 3 - and enjoyed every moment of it - but I'd never committed to a certain family or location until Island Paradise. For whatever reason, the possibility to explore underwater scenes via SCUBA diving made me really eager to pursue as many opportunities in this EP as possible. There are mermaids to befriend, mysterious islands to unlock and discover, sharks to avoid, and resorts to manage... you can even live on a houseboat and mosey around the network of little islands and atolls that make up the town. Super fun!

This was also the first EP where I found it really easy to get a lot of simoleons quickly, and I definitely think that helped get me immersed in the gameplay. One of the resorts can be "bought" for free and thereafter - using funds your Sim has already accrued - be upgraded. Boom! Before you know it, you may be raking in 3,000-6,000 simoleons a day, and that means exploring other aspects of Sim life - raising a family, trying to unlock islands, working on skills - can be the primary focus.

Hint: it pays to pursue SCUBA diving because it yields great rewards: treasure chests with contents worth thousands of simoleons, as well as diving work opportunities that amount to catching something like 2 squid (worth just over $1000 on their own) and receiving 10,000 simoleons as recompense. Ridiculous. Money like that certainly helps boost the resort ratings by making upgrades affordable!

In any case, after this EP, I was truly hooked. I've combined it with many others, including Seasons, and I get a giggle out of seeing the island paradise blanketed in snow... :)
