Overall, this is a very enjoyable and well-conceived version, and the 'Best Play' suggestions (aside from the pet-peeves cited below) are an excellent way to increase one's lexicographical arsenal. But I certainly agree with others that any Scrabbot above 'Elite' shamelessly skews the odds in their favor by hogging all the best tiles, and by not only challenging many universally accepted words but actually vaporizing them and deducting the score! QUITE rude! Yes, even when one has taken the trouble to un-check "Allow only valid (says who?) moves" .
So, in case the developers get a chance to read these reviews, here... in addition to my great thanks for all the stuff that works great..... are a few suggestions when playing against the computer :
a) Let us to tailor the game to conform to whatever 'Official Scrabble Dictionary' we're comfortable with by refining the "Allow only valid moves" feature to let us to block words that our own sources tell us are illegal, while allowing us to use words that they tell us are legit. I think this would help dissipate a lot of the anger and frustration that I've read here and elsewhere.
b) Make the letter distribution truly random for both opponents all the way up to 'Genius'.
b) Randomly assign the computer to go first sometimes to better reflect 'real world' playing condition.
d) In the 'Best Plays' column, the listings - including words with blanks - should go strictly by descending point values, with all the letter exchanges left to last. As it is, the order seems oddly random, and I'll often scroll down, down, down, and find some clever 30+point word buried way past all the letter exchanges and single digit words. Maybe check-out the very useful "Scrabble Word Maker" Ap. which does this rather well .
e) When we temporarily leave the 'Best Plays' listing to check a word's meaning in the Dictionary, we should be taken back to that same point on the list rather than all the way back to the beginning every time - QUITE annoying!
Well, that's it for now! My only additional request would be that if any of these, along with any other people's suggestions, were to be implemented at some point, we'd all be alerted and allowed to upgrade! Thanks.
