If you have the PowerPC version of HALO for MAC and you want to run it on your newer mac, then download this universal binary and it will work!
This is the universal binary version of Halo: Combat Evolved and is
intended for PowerPC and Intel Mac owners who previously purchased Halo
and would like to upgrade.
The full download is 650 MB. This download is only for the North American English version of Halo.
During the checkout you will be asked to supply the CD-key that came with your original Halo CD. Please look for this CD-key before making this purchase as it is required during the checkout.
Once you have downloaded the Halo UB disc image, you will need a blank CD disk (700 MB only) to burn the Halo Universal Binary CD. Use Disc Utility (found in the Utilities folder on your Mac) to burn the Halo UB image you downloaded. Please note that using a utility other than Apple Disc Utility, such as Toast, will not work.
To burn the image, find Disc Utility and launch it. Then go to Images menu and select "Burn". When the dialog window appears, find the Halo UB.dmg image and select it and click on "Burn". Once burned you can then run Halo on your Intel Mac. Please note that you will need your newly created Halo CD each time you wish to play Halo.

Saved me
I was clearing out the garage when all of a sudden, "snap". Looked down to realise I'd finally found my old copy of Halo for Mac. Under my foot in pieces. Long story, short: eBay, Amazon - WTF? $150! Googled, found this site, used my original Mac serial number, downloaded, installed, burnt to disc. New disc, great performance (1920x1200, without so much as a flicker), stable and this great game - originally developed for the Mac, as opposed to XBox - takes a licking and keeps on ticking, in 10.7 Lion no less!
The best 5 bucks I've spent since …. Hell, since 5 bucks could buy you anything. Thank you for updating this classic title.
