Rally Shift features very realistic physics where you can put your driving skills to the test. Slide through turns on dirt roads, brake and accelerate at the right moment to keep your car on the road or you will see your competitors speed away.
Rally Shift is released with an initial 5 tracks ranging from country forrest to mountain and desert. More tracks and upgrades will be released later as free downloads.

A Bit Older, But Can Still Be Fun

I bought this game when it was first released in 2006. It was released before Colin McRae Rally Mac was released from Feral in 2007 so I was excited to get my hands on a Mac-Only Rally racer. I really enjoyed the game and I even updated the car liveries to match their real-world counterparts (not sure I still have them but I will look if anyone is interested). I ran this game on my PPC G4 Mac and it ran great. It does work with a steering wheel, though there is no FFB which was very disappointing. It still runs well under Rosetta, but without a Universal Binary, it will not run on 10.7 Lion. Hey, you never know, maybe CodeBlender will update the game?! Oh well.
Please do not expect to get a game like the recently released Dirt 2. This game is a bit older, but can still be fun to play. Now if only the price would drop a little ;)
PROS:
- Runs fast on older PPC Macs
- Runs well under Rosetta
- Nice graphics especially for when it was originally released in 2006
- Includes a Garage Tool for tuning and updating the cars
- Steering wheel support, but no FFB
CONS:
- A bit pricey at $24.95
- A little short on content for the price
- The free updates promised were never created (this is a big one for me)
- No Universal Binary means no Lion support -
Rally Shift

I have just purchased this game and find it quite difficult to stay on the road. Therefore i am finding it a touch frustrating . I"m sure as my skill in keeping the car on the road improves i shall start to enjoy the game more. At the moment i only have the patience to play this game for about half an hour at a time so am gonna be a while before i get good at it. All in all a very good game for the money.
