  1. Listen up developers: we want more like this!
by Shanna Flaschka, USA - Dec 30th 2013

Similar to Virtual Villagers except more transparent in terms of goals. I wish there were more games like this! It actually reminds me of Gemini Lost and Wandering Willows, and those are games my kids and I play again and again.

Hidden object games are fun, but don't boast the kind of replay appeal that strategy and simulation games have, much less the better time management games.

The Promised Land is part strategy, part simulation. Your job is to run the island by assigning jobs based on citizens' preferences. Along the way, there are challenges such as things to build, pirates to fight (Angry Birds style!), and houses to rearrange. Like Gemini Lost, you also need to build up knowledge points in order to learn new skills and gain more structures.

Seriously, I can't imagine someone NOT enjoying this.

  2. Fun, but nothing really special about it
    by flignou, Canada - Dec 17th 2013

This game is fun to play, with a little colony to build, but nothing original (if you don't count the "Angry Birds"-type of mini-games with the pirates). The actions take a long time (even when the characters become more skilled and faster at their job) and you don't have much freedom on how you develop as you can't even place your buildings where you want… I'd say it's a good initiation for a youg person who is still getting used to simulation games because it really takes you by the hand all throughout the game. Music and graphics are cute though!

  3. Amazing graphics and effects, beautiful story and gameplay!
by Nicola Manocchio, Italy - Nov 16th 2013

This game is amazing, that's the only word I can use to describe it. I mena it's nothing like GTA, TES, Fallout or big hits like those, but it's well designed, the story, IMHO, is really beautiful (not TLOU beautiful, but still very very good). The best part, for me, it's the graphic effects: they're very simple, but at the same time they're stunning. The gameplay is rich: you have to think carefully which task you give to your citizens according to their favourites, what your colony needs in that moment, and what it's best selling to your capital. Considering the price, I suggest all of you to buy this game (or at least try the DEMO, it'll convince you to purchase)!!!
