One of the interesting challenges in this game is working out exactly what needs to be done to meet the objectives, and what is a distraction. Decided that you would like a nice hotel business on the side? Well, if that isnt part of the mission, you can expect your money to run out real quick!
Also interesting is the scenarios - you can find yourself with (quite literally) an unexpected gold mine - but beware, environmental activists will scream blue murder as soon as shovels break ground, and watch out for the pollution levels rising and tourists to turn a little green on the beach!
Listening to the radio is a laugh a minute - wait until your latest action gets turned around "El presidente is keeping the polluting gases for himself and his cronies that made us strong!" as an example.
A fun game, and challenging. Worth playing

Great game but the $35 price tag is not worth it, and tropic 4 is already out.

Over all a great game, excellent graphics and sound, but on my iMac 27" it crashes way to much. My suggestion - SAVE A LOT!! Oh, and YES you can play AND create Scenario's EVEN on the Mac Version. You can also create a custom island, goals, resources, etc. I'd have to say the replay value is excellent! To find out how... RTFM You'll find it very instructive on Random Island (from Sandbox mode) and Scenarios (how to create and play them.) IF the crash issue was fixed, I'd give this 6 Stars.
