If you are under spec, fear not! I just tested Black Ops on my MacBook Air. It ran very smoothly on the auto-detect settings, which was 1024x768 resolution and medium settings. The machine itself is "unsupported" in the processor, video card department and OS version. It wants 10.7.4.
MBA Specs: 13" Mid 2011. 1.7 GHz Core i5. 4GB RAM. Intel HD 3000 (384mb) Lion 10.7.3.
I played through the first mission smoothly..I may even try turning up a few things.
Otherwise on my main machine, a 27" iMac with the ATI 5750 (1GB) and 8GB RAM it runs perfectly on High settings. Great game all around, any shooter/CoD fan should get it.

Wumpus, with a little bit of fiddling i was able to play Rage, Duke Nukem, Darkness 2, Ac Brotherhood on my low end mbp. im not to worried about the graphics specs because im pretty sure the game would run smooth with all the graphics and setting turned low, my only concern is bypassing the p.list that limits 10.6.8 from continuing to the menu screen, do you think it wold run on my mbp, 9400m 2.53ghz 10.6.8, as long as i can bypass the os version? or am i SOL

Some of the newer games use specific graphics protocols that only exist in 10.7 or later... which kind of makes them not function in 10.6.8. Sadly. Even though when you look at a game, it doesn't look any more 'advanced' than some game that runs perfectly fine in 10.6.8.

If your MBP has a 9400m, it should have the 9600m as well, which is a 512mb chip. What's your exact model? My 2009 MBP had both chips and I could switch between them.
If you could play Rage & Darkness 2 you could probably play Black Ops, but I'd rather get your full specs first. I'm also not familiar with bypassing the p.list limits. An update is only $20-$30 to Lion or Mountain Lion.

I have the earlier model without the dual graphics cards, so im stuck with the 9400m, but I'll take your word for it. Usually i just wait a week or two for some other people to buy the game natively and sometimes they post on forums how the game performed on their system. A lot of the first programs on my mbp aren't compatible with OSX Lion so in the process of spending 30 dollars i'd be losing hundreds, thats why owning a mac is a little bit of a hassle, none the less i still love my mbp

I have mac os x 10.6.8 with 2.4 Ghz core intel i5, 4gb 1067 Mhz DDR 3, mid to late 2011 mac book pro 15".
Is this a good platform for this game? ( Call of Duty: BIack Ops.)
I have a C.O.D. but is an older one that works excellently with this mac set up. But....key word "older"!
Thank-You
Tami
